Hi, I'm Andrew, a Northampton-based freelance copywriter, here to help you bring your ideas, projects, designs, products, or services to life. All through a powerful mix of persuasive copywriting and relatable storytelling.
I don't mean 'once upon a time...' stories, but compelling, meaningful narratives your audience can relate to.
Stories that evoke a thought or a feeling. Spark imaginations. Paint a vivid picture of your plans, products, or services. A story that transforms a masterplan with a positive glimpse into the future. Takes the reader on a journey into the heart of your designs. Guides them through past or current projects.
In essence, compelling stories that put the reader - your clients, stakeholders, customers or prospects - at the heart of them. Stories that can excite, inspire, and motivate.
And while it's true not every message can be made into a story (I can help you with these projects, too), you can apply persuasive copywriting with relatable storytelling to many different forms of copy.
Such as...
🔹 Compelling architectural project stories
🔸 Meaningful SEO-friendly blog posts
🔹 Informative and entertaining advertising features
🔸 Captivating web pages
🔹 Enticing multi-page marketing brochures
🔸 Insightful eBooks...
And more besides.
So, for meaningful words your clients, stakeholders, customers, or prospects can relate to, let's have a chat...
I can help you with your architectural storytelling (aka project descriptions), brochures, blog posts, web pages and more.
I've written persuasive content for architectural firms, urban planners, housebuilders, and 3D 'Smart City' digital modelling PropTech. Plus, story-focused property marketing brochures for high-end modern and period design properties. I've also written B2B content for fire safety products, systems, and services, as well as CCTV and security systems.
"...with such a complex message, clarity was essential. You have succeeded where we had struggled and the brochures and proposal documents you've written are pitched perfectly."
Gordana Mandic, Tyler Mandic Architects, Chelsea, London.
B2B and B2C copy and content writing for firms connected with placemaking, the landscape, or gardens and gardening.
I've written for garden designers and soft landscapers' as well as for high-end garden retail. Plus, editorially about garden design history and garden tourism for a UK magazine series.
I'm also your ideal copywriter for all your compelling project descriptions, blogs, web pages... for landscape architects, and LVIA (Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment) consultants.
Plus, I can help you with copywriting projects involving garden rooms, street furniture, or garden products/accessories.
As a former pro photographer, I'm your natural choice when it comes to writing informative, engaging, and enticing copy for architectural, placemaking, and commercial photographers.
Capturing the vision behind your photography and more.
As well as writing copy for professional photographers, I've also written about photography-focused holidays, tours, and workshops. Plus, photographic studios and services.
"Thank you for your collaboration, Andrew, your work has been invaluable to us."
Paola Bergamaschi, Studio Director for Christian Tagliavini, award-winning fine-art portraiture photographer, Switzerland.
Crafting inspiring words about inspiring places is something I love doing. In particular, I have experience in writing enticing copy for heritage tourism, and country-house gardens with stories to tell. As well as informative articles on heritage architecture photography.
I'm also ideally placed to write compelling story-focused copy for heritage sector architects, heritage planning and design consultants, and other built environment heritage specialists.
"Forty years of life and work summed up in one thousand words. That's quite an achievement, Andrew, and it reads beautifully, too."
Frank Lawley, Herterton House Gardens, Northumberland.
As a copywriter for the great outdoors, I've written evocative copy for luxury outdoor clothing brands. And some equally evocative taglines for a promotional video, too. Plus copy for places to visit, outdoor leisure, and wellbeing in nature.
I can also bring your great outdoor experiences to life with copy that excites and inspires past and potential visitors alike.
"Thank you so much, Andrew - this is great! You’ve really nailed the evocative copy we're after. And with so many options for taglines, we definitely have that part covered too!"
Emma Mathias, Bradshaw Taylor - the home of luxury outdoor clothing and country lifestyle brands.
Well, it's not quite the random choice you might think it is. Instead, it's all down to photography. Before entering the varied world of copywriting I was a freelance commercial landscape and location photographer. Alongside this, I wrote (and sometimes illustrated) articles for a number of UK consumer and trade magazine titles.
From the very start, I specialised in photographing Britain's varied architecture, landscapes, gardens, and heritage locations. All subjects that genuinely interested me. And still do. Which is why it made sense to now write for clients operating in these same fields, albeit with a slightly broader scope.
The focus was mainly on shooting stock for use in numerous editorial and commercial markets. But I also worked with prestigious clients like the National Trust. While I'm no longer a working photographer, my existing stock images held with various pictures libraries continue to be used in all kinds of ways - editorial, commercial, and marketing - around the world.
And yet, I am still creating pictures - only now it's using words rather than a camera. With just the right words, I paint persuasive pictures to bring ideas, projects, designs, products, and services to life.
Peter Tyler, Tyler Mandic Architects, Chelsea, London.
